Who are we looking for?
The work of the ABC board is a vital part of the organization and its development. Being a part of the board involves a dynamic commission of trust that is rewarding, educational and meritorious. You get the opportunity to influence and make your voice heard in an organization working with international development and local environmental and democracy work. You get experience working administratively in a small organization, but also the opportunity to work very operational.
We believe that you, who want to be a member of ABCs board, is driven and is not afraid to tackle administrative tasks – both smaller and larger ones. We also believe that you like working in a small organization where the board is operational and it provides you the opportunity to develop your skills.
The Board meets about once a month to keep quorum meetings. In addition to these meetings each member works continuously with the specific tasks he / she receives (eg , president , secretary, treasurer, etc. . ) And in various working groups dealing with major strategic issues and smaller issues concerning the organization and its operations in Sweden and collaborations abroad .
How do I nominate myself or someone else?
You can nominate yourself or another appropriate person to chair person( term of 1 year), regular or alternate member. All posts are for a term of 1 or 2 years.
Nominate (anonymously if desired) by sending name, phone number and email address associated to the person you want to nominate to info@abcsweden.org with subject heading ‘ nomination to the Board . ” Submit your nomination before October 6.
When and where will the task be performed?
All assignments begin after the respective person has been elected by the compound on ABC’s annual meeting on 27 October 2013. What specific role / post to get within the board is chosen by the new board at the following Board meeting succeeding the annual meeting, with the exception of the chair person which is elected at the annual meeting.
The assignment as chairperson, regular and alternate member with periods of office of 1 year is elected forthe board until the next annual meeting in 2014, and members who are elected for 2 years are members of the board until the annual meeting in 2015.
